I was thrilled to be able to work with Taylor on this brand strategy and website project. It is so evident that she has spent a lot of time and effort growing her photography brand and business, and it was time for her visual identity (logo, colors, and website) to match up!
For a couple of months, I’ve had this strong urge (like a tug on my heart) to rebrand my business. I’m a firm believer that rebranding shouldn’t be done “just because,” but after evaluating where I was, where I wanted to be, and most of all who I wanted to be serving, I realized it was time for some realignment.
After wrapping up the updated Madalyn Yates Photography brand and website (you can see all that goodness over here), I realized something. As a brand and web designer, I’ve spent countless hours researching, studying, and most of all trying to understand what makes a brand effective. Today’s blog post will share all about why your brand is so much more than a logo, and how a solid brand can help your business grow.
I was so excited to get started on this project, but also a little nervous. It had to be perfect. Not just visually appealing or strategically designed. It had to represent Madalyn and the Madalyn Yates Photography brand and all that it stands for. When you know someone as well as I know Madalyn, that can be both scary and exciting at the same time.

As a Showit and Squarespace web designer, I have some experience when it comes to choosing between these two platforms, so I’m happy to share a little insight on some of the reasons why I would choose one over the other. I previously wrote a blog post about the Five Reasons to Pick Showit over Squarespace, so it’s only fair to flip it for today’s post. In this post I’ll share five reasons why you might want to choose Squarespace over Showit for your website platform.

For instance, it is no longer enough to just say “Sign up for my list” as consumers and potential clients have gotten more protective over their inboxes.
In today’s post, I’ll share how you can easily get started with email marketing workflows using Flodesk!
There’s no doubt that the Squarespace vs Showit debate is living on as strong as ever. As a designer working on both platforms for my clients, I have gained some valuable insight when it comes to choosing Showit vs Squarespace.

Have you ever found yourself making decisions based on the shiny new syndrome mixed with a little (or a lot) of FOMO?
Yep. I’ve been there too.
If you’ve been around the Hygge Design Co blog for a hot minute, you’ve heard me rave about MailerLite as my go-to email marketing software.
