Five Squarespace Font Combinations for Wedding Photographers

Do you want to know one of the most common giveaways for DIY websites? Font choices.

The fonts you choose on your website can really make a difference in the overall appearance of your brand. Carefully selecting the fonts you use throughout your Squarespace website helps you come across more polished and professional, but it also helps your visitor understand your content more easily!

Beyond the actual font choices you land on for your site, hierarchy, font size, font style, spacing, and text transformation are all important aspects of the web design process to leave you with a professional looking site to show off to your ideal clients.

In this post I’ll tell you about the importance of font choices for your website, and I’ll share five of my favorite Squarespace font combinations for wedding photographers!

The basics of web typography

When choosing fonts for your website it is very wise to stick to one or two main fonts for the entire site. Many new Squarespace users think this might leave your site bland or boring, but it actually does quite the opposite.

By sticking to just one or two options for the fonts throughout your website, you can still vary the style (italic, bold, uppercase, etc) for your font, which creates some interest while still balancing everything out.

Below you’ll see a couple examples using two font pairings (there’s an occasional accent font as a third option, which should be used sparingly).

Using fewer font choices but creating hierarchy through font sizes, italics, bold, and letter spacing, helps create a visually appealing site that also guides your visitor through your copy.

Note that fonts that are more difficult to read, like script fonts, should really be used more sparingly as a 3rd option.

I’ve put together the below font combinations to show you just some of the options you have with Squarespace. These are all very delicate and feminine options, perfect for wedding photographers.

I’ve used the same sample text in all the examples to make it easier to see the differences, and they’re all set up using Header 2, Header 1, Body, Header 3, and one button choice.
